The place is very pretty looking and has the 'bistro' vibe. My wife and I live in the neighborhood and decided to go one Sat. night. I was hoping for a 'bistro' type experience. Varied menu, good quality comfort food options. The menu was very small, (which is fine) but extremely short on protein selections. Just an italian sausage burger, and a pasta sause with italian sausage. The salad selection was fine, but everything else was not worthy of dinner. Not worthy of the 'bistro' designation. Only 4 other people there. Expensive for the quality of dishes: $14-$16 pasta dishes.... much better options around GP.

Breakfast was good today and nice to see lots of people there. German potato pancakes and fried potato sides were excellent. Very attentive on coffee refills and overall good experience until the check came. Apparently half of $6 was too challenging for our waitress as she charged $4. After debating the issue with us and then with another staff person, the issue was resolved. Many thanks to the other staff person who was very nice and with conmon sense who intervened. Likely will not be back. Over a dollar, really?

We've eaten here a few times since my first review. The food is just as good as the first time, and the service improved greatly! Hope they do well.

Great new offering in GPP! Met a friend for lunch and another friend happened to walk in. I see this already becoming a neighborhood favorite. Good menu with enough choices yet not overwhelming. Enjoyed the Californian panini and a delicious lime aide. Friendly and attentive service, comfortable, clean, well-lit, atmosphere. Some baked goods were available to satisfy the sweet tooth on the way out.

Great spot. Meals from scratch. Something different. Baked goods must be taken home.

My wife and I tried this place for breakfast at the advice of a friend. Apparently we hit it on a bad day when one of their chefs was out sick, so we had to wait for a table, and once we were seated, service was slow. I honestly don't even recall what I had for breakfast! So, we were in the neighborhood again recently and decided to give them another try, hopefully on a day they had a full staff. When we walked in there was a party of four in front of us, but one of the party said "I think there are some two-tops available." Sure enough, there were two tables cleared and ready for customers. Unfortunately, we stood there for maybe 10 minutes with out anyone greeting us. I don't care how good the food is (and I can't remember what I had the first time!) you're just not going to make it in the competitive restuarant business with poor customer service. We left without any of the staff having even acknowledged our presence, and we likely will not give them a third chance.

Love the interior...the atmosphere is very laid back and aesthetically appealing. You can tell someone put a lot of work into renovating this space. We went for breakfast and had the Farmer's Scramble. It was excellent. I wish our waitress had told us about the daily specials because one of may have opted for one of those but we did not see them until we had already ordered. I wish there menu was a bit larger. Although it appears daily specials would make up almost half of the offerings (but only if you are aware of them.) This is a very nice place within walking distance of my house. I hope that it does well and expands a bit (maybe dinner at some point?) There are not enough places I really like in this area so I wish the best for it!

Had 8 hungry people in two cars, ranging in age from 9 to 79. Tried to find food on a Saturday night and were having no luck. Found this gem on Yelp and called to see if they could accomodate our brood. We arrived ten minutes later to a set table for eight, in the art gallery attached to Mimi's. Had a delicious, personal and very memorable dinner! Food was fresh and delicious and the service was marvelous! A little butterfinger brownie and pecan peanut brittle to end our meal, made a perfect meal even better!! We can't wait to come back!

I have high hopes for this place. They'd only been open five weeks when we stopped in for breakfast so service was a bit rough. The menu was pretty limited but if they're mostly trying to work out the kinks before their grand opening, it's reasonable. The breakfast sandwich has a creative combination of flavors, served on a housemade biscuit that tastes like it could win a blue ribbon at the fair. I had a blueberry smoothie that was fine, nothing special. We ordered the schmultz - a bacon spread - which had great presentation but just tasted like fat with bits of bacon in it, it needs some herbs or acid or something. I'm excited about the potential for Mimi's - I think most of their offerings are house made. Will return for lunch, the menu looks very promising, we'll give them some time to iron out the wrinkles.

Came back and we ordered nearly the same exact meals as last time. Service speed, friendliness, and food have all improved eons from the last time we were here. Definitely a great close place to grab a Sunday brunch!

My co-worker had art on exhibit at the attached gallery. Before leaving 2 of us decided to see what desserts were available at Mimi's. We both decided on the brownie. Kind of pricey but huge portion. While driving I pinched off a piece of brownie. Absolutely fantastic. I had to close the bag so I did not eat it all. My co-worker and my son agreed. The texture was the right combination of cake and fudge. The best brownie I have tasted. Already making plans to stop again if we are in area.

The food is excellent. The Italian wedding soup with kale instead of spinach is just out of this world. The base has lots of flavor. I had the Mediterranean panini and it is good not greasy like most of the other grilled sandwiches. Would definitely bee turn to try other stuff.

Highly recommended! Food is high quality and made from scratch. Excellent service. Be sure to ask to the owner, Melanie, about her Grandma, Mimi and also about her father, the artist who's work is on display next door. Very interesting stories and background. Melanie and her staff are awesome. BTW, grab a brownie on the way out, they are to die for.

I'm very excited about Mimi's bistro! I've been twice now, and the food is excellent. Their potato pancakes are my favorite and the zucchini fritters are fantastic with the garlic sauce they make. My mother loves that they have almond milk to put in coffee. And the service is excellent. My only concern is that it's usually not very busy even on the weekends and I hope they're getting enough business to stay open!

Mimi's is a wonderful addition to Grosse Pointe Park. We had a great lunch which included the Mediterranean Panino and the Reuben Salad along with delicious French Press Coffee. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in breakfast or lunch.

Best homecooked meal I've had in the Detroit area, period. You can tell everything is made from scratch and the taste is complimented by an amazing and attentive wait staff. Have been back several times for both breakfast and lunch and have yet to be disappointed! Grabbing a fresh pastry on the way out is also a must! Try anything, you can't go wrong. So happy to finally have a fresh and homestyle restaurant in the Grosse Pointe area!!

I think Mimi's has potential. My husband ordered the vegetarian breakfast sandwich and loved it. I ordered the crepe like pancakes and they were oily. Coffee was great, not like the wimpy coffee usually served. I think there is room for improvement but overall I think it has the potential to be something special. Love the decor and cleanliness.

Oh man, I've found a gem. This place is fantastic. The Décor is cute, the location is perfect for me, there was music playing, vases with fresh flowers on the tables and the FOOD... as always, it comes down to the food. We had intended on grabbing some breakfast but were too late. No matter, the lunch menu was intriguing as well. It took me a while to decide but I finally landed on the Penne with Pesto and Fresh fruit on the side with a Lemon Italian Soda. We had a "Mimi's Not Your Typical Caprese" to start and I fell in love. It has a truffle-balsamic reduction that is exactly what Caprese's have always been lacking. My Penne was oh so good and a generous portion for $7.00. I've paid more and gotten less at many restaurants. My boyfriend had the House-made Gnocchi with Mel's Famous Tomato Sauce. I'm always leery of foods with "famous" in the title, but this is one that, if it isn't famous already, definitely should be. I'll admit it. I had sauce envy. I ended my meal with a brownie that was just how I like my brownies, chewy and soft in the center with just a touch of crispy on the edge. We added a takeout order at the end of our meal, so I got to try a Ham and Cheese Panini too. It comes with a mustard aioli that added the perfect kick. The boyfriend had the Penne with the Spicy Italian Sausage & Tomato Sauce. Unfortunately, he inhaled it before I was able to get a taste. He assures me though, that it's "delicious." It will go onto my list of foods to try at Mimi's Bistro, along with the Southwestern Salad, the Zucchini Fritters, and the Farmer's Breakfast, as well as the myriad of baked goods they carry. All in all, top notch.
